This page tells the basics of each report available to teachers on Zinc:

Class Usage + Performance Report (NEW!)

Where to find it:

What the report includes:

  • Adjustable time range

  • How many Close Readings each student has completed, their average score, and the average difficulty level

  • How many article-related vocabulary words each student has learned

  • How many words each student has learned once, twice, or three times

  • How many article quizzes each student has completed, their average score, and the average difficulty level

  • Each student's current reading level, how many Level Placements they've completed, and their highest level achieved

Class Assignments Performance Report

Where to find it:

What the NEW Articles Report includes:

  • A list of all assigned articles and how many students have completed their assignment

  • The date that each student completed their article-related vocabulary games, if they were assigned

  • The date that each student completed their article quiz, their score, and a link to each student's quiz (where you can review their predictions)

  • If a student has completed their writing prompt assignment yet, and, if they have, a link for you to grade it. Once graded, you will see each student's writing prompt score

What the Vocabulary Report includes:

  • A list of all assigned vocabulary sets

  • The date that each student completed the assigned vocabulary game

  • If the spaced repetition option was selected, you can track how many exposures of the six each student has completed

Class Reading Skills Report

Where to find it:

What the report includes:

  • Adjustable time range

  • A list of either Zinc Skills or Common Core Standards (or TEKS, LAFS, or SCCCR, depending on your location) and how each of your students performs when asked questions related to that skill or standard on an article quiz

Class Level Placement Report

Where to find it:

  • The Reports page

  • The Assignments page

  • The Results section of the homepage

  • The Manage Classes page

What the report includes:

  • Each student's current Zinc level

  • The option to update a student's most recent Level Placement result to a level you think is a better fit

  • If the student rushed through their last Level Placement, who assigned their last Level Placement, when their last Level Placement was assigned, and when their next Level Placement will be available

  • A link to each student's Level Placement History Report

NEW Student Performance Report

Where to find it:

  • The Reports page

  • Students can access this report from their own account

What the report includes:

  • The student's current Zinc Level

  • An overview of how many article quizzes completed, vocab words learned, and Close Readings finished

  • An article section detailing article quiz data as well as reading skill and standard proficiency (Tip: select a particular date range to track growth from the beginning to the end of a grading period)

  • A vocabulary section showing student progress through both stand-alone and article related vocabulary

  • A Close Reading section showing activity and performance

  • A Level Placement section with all the student's previous Level Placement results

Student Level Placement History Report

Where to find it:

  • The Reports page

  • The Student Performance Report (available to each student on their account)

What the report includes:

  • The student's current Zinc level

  • The option to update a student's most recent Level Placement result to a level you think is a better fit

  • If the student rushed through their last Level Placement, who assigned their last Level Placement, when their last Level Placement was assigned, and when their next Level Placement will be available

  • The source of each Level Placement (whether it was assigned on its own or as part of another assignment such as Ignition)

Close Reading Experience Report

Where to find it:

  • The Assignments page

  • The Results section of the homepage

What the Class Close Reading Experience Report includes:

  • How many students have completed their assignment, the class average score, average time to complete the assignment, and the Zinc expected time to complete the assignment

  • If each student has completed their Close Reading assignment, their score, total time spent, date completed, and a link to each Individual Student Close Reading Experience Report

What the Individual Student Close Reading Experience Report includes:

  • The student's overall score, as well as a breakdown of their main idea score, other questions score, and effort score. These scores are explained by clicking the little "i" for more information.

  • The student's total time to complete the assignment and if they rushed any of their answers

  • How the student responded to the final main idea multiple choice question

  • The student's free text response about the main idea at the beginning of the Close Reading Experience, and again at the end

  • The "further thought" question and the student's free text response

Reading Sprint Report

If you like Sprints, we think you'll love Lift Off, our new four-week, choice-based reading journey that combines the best of Reading Sprints with the motivational elements students love. Reading Sprints will be phased out in summer 2024.

What the Class Reading Sprint Report includes:

  • Each student's progress in completing each of the assignments for each week of the reading sprint

  • Their score on each of the reading sprint activities

What the Individual Reading Sprint Report includes:

  • The student's progress in completing each of the assignments for each week of the reading sprint

  • The student's scores on every Close Reading Experience and article quiz, as well as the article-related vocabulary games completed throughout the entire sprint
