SAT Mastery is currently a pilot program, and we will need to activate it for your school. If you don't see SAT Mastery on your homepage, request it here.

SAT Mastery Contents

SAT Mastery includes 20 days of SAT test-method practice and instruction. The activities are  designed as warmups, do-nows, or short practice sessions. We recommend setting aside about 10 to 20 minutes for each day of content.

Each 5-day week of SAT Mastery includes includes 2 Test Prep Experiences using our Close Reading Experinces, a daily 3- or 6-question SAT-style practice quiz, and 2-3  (optional) teacher-led mini-lessons.

Bluebook Practice Days

SAT Mastery sets aside time specifically for Bluebook Practice. On Bluebook Practice days, students take the official SAT in College Board's Bluebook app.

To help students prepare for test day, we've scheduled in 2 days (Day 10 and Day 20) for students to practice in Bluebook. These days include a pop-up reminder directing students to open Bluebook and do a practice section or test. Teachers can assign these days in class, choosing which tests students should do, or can direct students to do these as independent practice at home. NB: V1 does NOT include student self-reporting or integration with Bluebook. We hope to build out these "official" practice days in future versions.

How to Request SAT Mastery

Because SAT Mastery is a pilot program, we are enabling it for schools and districts.

If SAT Mastery is not visible when you click Activities in the top menu, the program is not yet enabled for you. Please request SAT Mastery for your whole school
here.

As soon as your access is enabled, the Zinc team will email to let you know. You and your fellow teachers will then see SAT Mastery under Activities in your top menu.

How to Assign SAT Mastery

To assign SAT Mastery, click "Assignments" in the top menu. Under the A La Carte activities, click "SAT Mastery."

(If SAT Mastery is missing from your menu, request SAT Mastery for your school here.)

Once you've selected the activity in the menu, follow the assignment flow by selecting a class. Click "Preview Workload" or "Assign SAT Mastery." You'll then choose your class from the dropdown menu. After selecting a class, simply check the boxes to assign to one or more students, or select "Whole Class."

When you're done, be sure to click "Assign." Then the assignment will appear on the dashboard of each student who received the assignment.

Reports

To view SAT Mastery reports, click "View Report" beside the class's assignment on your homepage. Once inside the report, you can can quickly check different classes with the "Change Class" dropdown menu.

Reports show a comprehensive Overview, SAT Domains and Skills by class, and week-by-week performance and progress.

If you'd like to view SAT Mastery reports for a class where you didn't create the assignment, visit your Reports page. Find the Class Reports and the Assignment Progress Report. Begin typing the class or teacher name in the search box to find a class, and then select SAT Mastery from the dropdown menu.

SAT Mastery Implementation Suggestions

The best practice for implementing SAT Mastery is simple: Assign SAT Mastery. We strongly recommend teaching each week's mini-lessons to the full class, then have students complete independent work in SAT Mastery as a warm-up or for homework.

Reteaches and Extra Practice

  1. For extra practice, we recommend.

  2. Print the daily quiz from a student's SAT Mastery report (coming soon) and pull small groups for review.

  3. You can also identify needed skills and use the SAT Question Bank to try more practice questions targeting particular skills.

FAQ

Do I need to do all of Zinc SAT Mastery 20 days in a row?

No. You can absolutely do the program over the course of 2 months or a semester.

You can also choose specific days in the program to focus on targeted skills. Use the Workload Preview and direct students to clik on a specific day on the map. Or use the dropdown (same as STAAR).

How long will SAT Mastery be available?

SAT Mastery is a pilot program. It is currently scheduled to be available to you until the end of this school year.

Depending on demand and feedback, we may reset SAT Mastery for summer school (with the same content).

Future versions may contain new content refreshed once or twice a year. This will depend on feedback as we evaluate this pilot progam.
